Sens Underground Forums > Heatley Press Conference

Heatley is apparently doing a conference call and follow up press conference in Kelowna tomorrow according to Dreger. I'll be in Kelowna, so does anyone know how to breach security at these things?

be prepared to witness the man who speaks yet says nothing.

What a joke of an opening statement.

August 21, 2009 at 1:08 PM | Registered CommenterSystine

Just tuned in... this is gonna be interesting!!

August 21, 2009 at 1:09 PM | Registered CommenterShredder

Because his role was deminished!!??? What a joke! He was given the 'A'... how was his role deminished!?!?

August 21, 2009 at 1:10 PM | Registered CommenterShredder

So he chose not to go to Edmonton because he wanted more options???

August 21, 2009 at 1:19 PM | Registered CommenterShredder

So he is saying Ottawa is not willing to deal with any team other then Edmonton.

I like how he says he knows there are other teams interested? Yet they probably want Ottawa to take a pile of crap from them.

Nice, not answering the handing in the "A" question.

I don't think Heatley has helped his cause with this conference...

August 21, 2009 at 1:21 PM | Registered CommenterShredder

You can tell Brennan and Heatley don't like eachother...

August 21, 2009 at 1:22 PM | Registered CommenterShredder

That was a joke, as predicted.

August 21, 2009 at 1:25 PM | Registered CommenterSystine

What a joke!!!

As much as I was pissed off at this whole mess, I was still reserving a little bit of judgment until I head Heatley speak. You always need to hear both sides of the story... well heard his side and well...he can go to hell.

August 21, 2009 at 1:27 PM | Registered CommenterShredder

Press conference in a nutshell:
"I'm danny f***ing heatly"
"I love playing hockey in canada, and love canadian teams, just not edmonton."
"I don't like cloustan, and i want more ice time."

PLEASE KEEP IT CLEAN IN THE FORUMS - SHREDDER

"he can go to hell." .... or Edmonton.

August 21, 2009 at 1:29 PM | Registered CommenterSystine

" I felt I was an integral part of the team when I signed 2 years ago" Hockey is a team sport Heatley. We are sorry if team is not spelt with an "I". The sad part is he stated he thinks that he is a "team player" :(

If Heatley suits up for the sens this year, will his role include the "A" on the jersey?

August 21, 2009 at 6:07 PM | Registered CommenterHomer Simpson

I guess Brennan was making a joke about not returning Heatley's calls?..

So one thing about Heatley's story is bothering me. Didn't Chara site the same type of concern as one of his personal reasons to move on? I thought he said that he wanted to go somewhere else where he would have a bigger leadership role on the team. Then we hear somebody else say that they want a bigger role but it is clear that the old school run the room. Can somebody confirm or deny this...or maybe I am just going crazy with all the soap opera crap that goes on around this team.

With Heatley maybe it is a case of somebody wanting something they have not earned?

Why did nobody ask Heatley why he thought other teams were interested?

In anycase...it sounds like the Heat is gone...eventually.

It had to be embarrassing to keep saying the same thing over and over. I want options and Edmonton isn't one of them.
Brennan was damn funny and Heatley really comes off as a baby it was tough listening to.

He only did this dog and pony show because the guys who run Team Canada told him to and he never really said anything.

Lastly someone in Murray's office leaks private info all the time it's pretty clear now. Doug Wilson was pissed that his players
names were leaked. Tammbellini in Edmonton was totally not happy with the leak also.

Brennan calls Heatley a spoiled sniveling suck hole, what makes anyone think they don't get along?

August 22, 2009 at 12:18 AM | Registered Commentertjlincoln

I loathe this prick!

I DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WANT THIS SELFISH BASTARD ON MY TEAM.

I think this guy should get boo'ed in every single game he plays from now on. Eat my hairy ass Heatley!

Out of Dany Heatley's control was a semi-hostile Saddledome crowd that
booed him often on Thursday, a sure sign that some transplanted
Edmontonians an Ottawans were in the building. One person, no doubt a
Calgarian, held up a sign before the game that read "Don't Worry Dany -
We Wouldn't Want To Play In Edmonton Either."

Does the reporter REALLY think that it was a bunch of transplated Ottawans or people that have journeyed over from Edmonton that were booing Heatley?

A quick wander around around any of the hockey fora across the web and you'll see fans from all teams ragging on Heatley and the way his trade request has been handled by his representative team and for his actions so far includeding his wonderful self contradicting press conference at the Team Canada camp.

To think that only fans of the Senators and Oilers think Heatley is a front bottom for what he's done is just plain delusional.
