DaCosta sent down, Grant called up. All 3 Callups are the game, along with Ivan White, Puddleduck and I-don't-know-who else.

I doubt I'll be posting in this thread during the game unless Robellus have managed to get their collective keisters in gear and supplied sufficient capacity to the building for people to actually use their smartphone during the game.

Pageau out, Grant in. I like it. JGP has been struggling and I love that they called up Grant instead of Zibanejad.

hopefully Grant can get the puck out of their zone better than.......

Will center the 4th line with the Kassassin and the Anacondra. He'll probably see a lot of PK time as he is a PK specialist and scores a lot of shorties.

I'm assuming these guys are the West broadcast team. Feels like an Oilers home broadcast. I'd have to think Dean and Denis would be pretty annoying to Oilers fans though.

Now THAT"S a Sens penalty kill!

October 19, 2013 at 2:17 PM | Registered CommenterPesky Jones

Have a feeling that the Oilers will spank the Sens in their own end, and Dubnyk will be his mammoth self and shut the door. :((

Afternoon game? Oh of course. After all Saturday night is reserved for the blue slime.

Afternoon game, heritage jerseys, playing a struggling goalie. Yep sounds like a recipe for disaster.

At least I can watch it now that the Gamecenter servers are back online due to Time Warners network outage.

Hall looked like he tore a ligament to me. That range of motion was gross.

Not sure this Sens team is as good as alot of people thought.

October 19, 2013 at 3:37 PM | Registered CommenterSunburned Senior

Glad I missed this hot mess too, I thought the young pukes in Edmonton couldn't stop anybody

To be fair Dubnyk is a backup caliber goalie, so we we're bound to make him look like a Vezina candidate.

LOL, u are right AO.

Alfie is gone and Karlsson is not currently playing the same way. ..

and any way you cut it we're on the penalty kill way too much.

Just finished watching the game on my PVR. This game reminds me of last year. PK was great and we can't score to save our lives.

Also what was with the goal song? I thought it was supposed to be Righteous Smoke.

October 19, 2013 at 10:14 PM | Registered CommenterChuckProuse

The goal song was changed from 'Righteous Smoke' by Monster Truck to 'Wake Me Up' by Avicii. It's a faster BPM song (craved by those with attention spans measured in seconds) so it's a better "energy song", but it's not exactly complicated production.

As far as the game:

- too many penalties, again
- amazing 2 minute PK of a 5-on-3
- Lehner did not look good on the two goals in the first four shots
- Sens outshot the Oilers, but didn't really outchance them
- nice dirty goal by Neil

And here I was thinking we'd have a goal song that didn't suck. Oh well, at least it's better than that piece of crap Usher song last season.

October 20, 2013 at 12:27 AM | Registered CommenterChuckProuse

Looking it up online Righteous Smoke actually has a faster BPM (I guess that's for the whole song though). Still, Wake Me Up sounds like something you'd play to celebrate winning a game, not scoring a goal. It wouldn't get me energized at a game at all.

New goal songs is turrible. Must be that new building entertainment director's idea from Montreal.
Hey Gene, here's an idea - if you're running out of ideas how to make game day experience more fan friendly and fun... ask the fans! Or even the players. Money they are wasting on hiring this guy they could use to fix the parking lot... instead it continues to look like the battle grounds of Vimmy Ridge.

The team is playing like crap right now - totally disorganized. But they are picking up points when the goalies are hot and/or the offense is hot. They are definitely not playing as a team, though.
