Neil is likely quite happy about that.
good call to sit Lundin for Benoit.
Raging Russell
I don't think Cartner would have started anything with the Sens unless they did something that he had to react to. He wasn't a guy that started fights just to stir things up. And I'm pretty sure none of the Sens would be stupid enough to try and start something with him.

So do the NYI start DiPietro tonight in an attempt to resurrect his career? It has worked for a few other teams this year.
Senior
... I'll bet if Stache stares at DiPietro long enough, he'll break a hip ...
Puddleduck
Remember saying "They signed DiPietro to a 15 year contract? That's insane. And it will never end".
Would you believe this is year 7 of that contract? I can't.
Kardinal
They have to buy him out in the summer. If not, they're just an absolute joke
Pesky Pan
They may have to keep him to reach the minimum salary level. Not sure how long Thomas is under contract.
Senior
They showed DiPietro pic here on Isles broadcast he looks like a 70's rock star
tjlincoln
Thomas would only have 1 year left. Keeping him for 7 years would hurt a lot though. I don't know, I just don't get this team.
Pesky Pan
you do math haaaaaaaardaaaah!
Raging Russell
you do math haaaaaaaardaaaah!
on this team? It's just impossible.
Pesky Pan
is it just me or are Dean and Denis starting to look like each other, like an old married couple do?
Raging Russell
This season would be Thomas' last contract year and I think they have the choice to walk away and consider the contract expired at the end of the season, or have the contract slide and Thomas still owe them a season. If Thomas doesn't come back, they could probably let the contract slide and count against their cap, but not actually pay anything until Thomas officially retires I would have to guess.
Homer
is it just me or are Dean and Denis starting to look like each other, like an old married couple do?
Yup. Kind of like you and Shredder
Pesky Pan
so, i'm shrinking and getting angry and he's losing his hair and getting cooler?
Raging Russell
i'm so glad I don't have to care about all that contract crap anymore. i can just skip those posts.
Raging Russell
If Yashin did return to play for Islanders, and signed for same as he is being paid now, would they have to declare his salary at 2.5 million or would it be 5 million.
Senior
Please God ... don't let DiPietro be the latest back-up goalie that we will enshrine and give a shutout to ...
Puddleduck
even Isles announcers don't like that call on Condra
tjlincoln
condra reminds me of alot of the guys we had in the early days of the sens. lots of hustle, good work ethic, not much talent. like a Dackell
Raging Russell
declared salary of $2.5M the other amount would be in the buy out section of the list.
Pesky Pan
... that was a real dumb penalty to take, Condaleeza ...
Puddleduck
GUYS!!! Stop slashing the hands! Condra's got at least 3 of those penalties this year
Pesky Pan
somepne has to pick up the slack for the lack of GI calls foligno used to take.
