First of all I have a pager... and matter of fact I had to call Bell about it a couple of weeks ago and even the guy on the help desk said "People still have those?"
Second, The why the hybrid icing was explained on the Prime Time Sports was that there would be no races for the puck. The only time it would not be blown dead was if the offensive player was clearly going to get to the puck first. CLEARY, so if was close the refs should blow it dead. Meaning 99% of the time it would be no touch, meaning they would be reducing the waste of time by basically nothing since a player at full speed goes from the top of the dot to the boards in about a second.
