I'm glad that my loving employer does not block FirstRowSports. If they had, I would have been starting to feel a bit ill'in right about now...

Is it a Holiday in Canada today??

February 20, 2012 at 12:58 PM | Registered Commentertjlincoln

It's family day in Ontario but all the government employees have to work because it's not a federal holiday.

that's too bad that everyone isn't off--I saw that Russell is tied with Mendes for First place in the prediction panel. I guess Russell does know a little about the Sens after all

I think Russell is really looking to quit while he's ahead

February 20, 2012 at 1:10 PM | Registered CommenterResigned Russell

that turnover by the Isles on Karlssson's goal was as good as any that Meszaros could ever have done.

February 20, 2012 at 1:10 PM | Registered Commentertjlincoln

On pace for 138-0. Good game!

February 20, 2012 at 1:11 PM | Registered CommenterResigned Russell

We want Poulin!!!!!

February 20, 2012 at 1:12 PM | Registered Commentertjlincoln

I believe Nabokov is out with the flu, like a number of other Islanders.

First it was the Apostle, now it's Jezza!!

Kevin Poulain is pulled from the goal after 2 goals on 5 shots, and Al Montoya is now in the net.

February 20, 2012 at 1:12 PM | Registered CommenterResigned Russell

u gotta love a fast start

February 20, 2012 at 1:13 PM | Registered Commentertjlincoln

Ian picked the isles to win today. my chance to shake him a bit. damn guy has pulled a remarkable comeback in the pool. he was the bar for wrong picks for a while.

February 20, 2012 at 1:14 PM | Registered CommenterResigned Russell

Think there's anything that Vancouver would want out of the islanders? Schneider would be a good fit and they need to fix their goaltending badly.

February 20, 2012 at 1:14 PM | Registered CommenterPost Draft Pan

the Canucks would want Tavares and that's about it--so now way that Schneider is going to the Island unless its as a UFA

February 20, 2012 at 1:18 PM | Registered Commentertjlincoln

interesting comments from melnyk. said the sens will not be buyers and will cont. to unload older players with big salaries.

so, if sens are in play-off spot, would he dump Gonch and Kuba? Would be great for the re-build but how would the players feel if it cost them the play-offs after such an amazing effort this year?

February 20, 2012 at 1:21 PM | Registered CommenterResigned Russell

Gonch has a no movement so unless he wants to go he ain't going--and Kuba has surprisingly played well, who would take his minutes if they did move him?

February 20, 2012 at 1:25 PM | Registered Commentertjlincoln

Considering what defenseman are getting in trades now, I'd be willing to listen to offers for Kuba, but unless it's a second rounder, I'd be hesitant as I'd want him for the playoffs. He won't be back though as karlsson will be taking his pay cheque next year. Go char would be very difficult to unload with a year left. Maybe at draft?
