Holy smokes! All kinds of former Sens droppin the mitts (!):
Cody Bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUdWqmNDeY8&feature=player_embedded
Kelly - could have destroyed Sutter, who startedt his, but showed a LOT of mercyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wZA8tT9rts&feature=player_embedded
KELLY!!! holy crap! i don;t ever remember him fighting before.
that's got to be worth SOMETHING!!!
Lol! Yeah, are you banking that one or what? A fight by Kelly may mean break out the leather, whip and cuffs lol!!
The defending champs, have the exact same record as the Sens so far this season - I didn't expect that.
in the summer, Shredder predicted that the sens would finish ahead of the canadiens. for the moment, he's right.
the sens are one of the worst teams in the league yet have two guys on the top 5 point scorers.
the caps are undefeated yet Ov has not really warmed up yet.
The pens are tied for the lead in goals for and they've done it without Crosby AND only 3 games from Malkin. granted, they played the most games of all teams.
Colorado is tied for 2nd most goals for in league.
Sens are last in goals against in league at 34. no other team is in the 30's.
everyone said the Kings would be this high flying offensive team but they lead the league in GA with just 10 in 7 games.
I also said they'd finish ahead of the leafs... so far, I'm wrong. But there's plenty of time for the leaves to crumble!
St.Louis Blues Goalie Brian Elliott improved to 3-0 this season with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage.
St. Louis has got a good team! How's Ray Ray doing in Chi-town?
Shredder, if the Sens are not making the playoffs, I would prefer they finish below them :)
Habs fired Perry Pearn 90 minutes before the game last night. Interesting move for a struggling team and they go on to beat the Flyers 5-1
Great quotes from the Habs GM about firing Pearn.
Perry Pearn's firing was "in no way a reflection of what he's been doing."
"It's not this action that's going to change anything."
So, it's not his fault and this won't do anything. Great job Habs...
My friend who is a huge Habs fan told me he's home sick today. I told him if the tylenol doesn't help, just fire Perry Pern - it solves all problems.
2Gs, 1A from Fisher tonighthis first 2 on the season, 4pts in 2 games for this up and coming talent
and now... some of the Preds' smoke show... http://video.predators.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=739&id=122404
On the night that Alfie gets injured, Fisher also leaves the game after a collision with an upper body injury. He just came back from a shoulder surgery off season.
Sticking with Nashville, McGrattan looks to be in top shape as he whoops Parros:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmUwT-orhew&feature=player_embedded#!
On the flip coin, Cody Bass had two fights for Columbus vs. Buffalo, but lost both:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6HWIWVgbNs&feature=player_embeddedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0A0PKquU9g&feature=player_embedded
So ... perusing Faceoff.com and spotted this headline:
"Mats Sundin set for spot in Maple Leaf's rafters"
... and all I'm thinkin' is ... how much rope would it take to ...
the thing about the leafers is give them enough time and they will inevitably do it to themselves.
Sens now have 50 goals against, only CLB is even in the 40's, at 40. just a wild guess here but that might be something they work on at practice.
interestingly, the top scoring line of jezza, 9mm and Greening are the worst when it come to +/-.
The Columbus Blue Jackets added another player up front Tuesday night as they acquired Mark Letestu from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a fourth-round pick at the 2012 NHL Draft.Letestu, 26, had 14 goals and 13 assists in 64 games for the Penguins in 2010-11 but had just one assist in 11 games this season. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound winger had been with the organization since the spring of 2007.
Surprised. Thought Pens were high on this young dman. I guess he was their Lee.
In other news, Cody Bass is really hitting his stride on the fighting circuit by dropping that soccer star douche Rinaldo:http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/106440
Bass now has the same amount of fights, 5, as Konopka the only difference being that Bass throws bombs. Which brings me to this question: why did the Sens pick up Konopka when they could have simply rewarded Bass for being an exemplary troop in Bingo. Same role as Konopka. Thoughts?
Konopka is a "face off specialist" or something like that.
Letestu: "I'm sorry, you traded me to who?"
Did you see the hit Lucic put on Miller???
I LOVE the quotes after the game:
Miller, "I just stuck around because I just wanted to say what a piece of [expletive] I think Lucic is," Miller said. "Fifty pounds on me and he runs me like that? It's unbelievable. Everyone in this city sees him as a big, tough, solid player. I respected him for how hard he played. That was gutless. Gutless piece of [expletive]."
Lucic, "He came out of his net. I was going full speed," he told NHL.com. "There's not much I can do. So that's basically it."
Miller, you whiny bitch! you come out to play the puck,. suck it up, princess!
Would we be saying the same thing if that was Anderson?
Actually, I would love to see Lucic do that to Lehner... if Lucic has life insurance, that is.
of course not, but it wasn't. ;)
A nice gesture by the Bruins organization.
Lucic got nothing more for his hit on miller. i'll need to hear his explanation on this.
