Sens Underground Forums > All 82 Sens games on TV

A 52-game broadcast deal with Rogers Sportsnet announced Tuesday means that, for the first time in their history, every one of the Senators’ 82 regular-season contests will be shown on the tube during the 2010-11 campaign.

The national schedules from CBC, TSN, RDS and RIS were announced earlier.

12 of the 52 games will be on Sportsnet Sens, a companion channel to Sportsnet ONE that will be available to all Rogers customers in Ottawa. Those who have Bell will get the 40-game package, but are currently at the mercy of a deal being worked out between Rogers and Bell to get the 12 Sportsnet Sens games.

Now I'm really anxious for the season to start.

Does this mean that CBC will show all the Saturday games and not just say, "Nah, I think you should watch Toronto play tonight instead of Ottawa"?

Rogers just launched a new sports station called SportsNet One. It would seem that during the hockey season SportsNet One will have a companion station called Sportsnet Sens, which will feature 12 games.
40 games will still be broadcast on the regular SportsNet channels.

SportsNet is owned by Rogers while TSN and RDS by CTVGlobeMedia which is partly owned by Bell.

As it stands Bell doesn't have an agreement with Rogers to carry the new stations. So while they fight over broadcast rights and licensing, the customers are the ones left in the dark. It took a few years before Rogers started to carry RDS in High Definition.

I just checked the schedule and it we have 17 Saturday games and they are all on TV. Hopefully we'll have them all in HD, but I'm not holding my breath.

I remember the same problem when TSN2 came out and had games on it. I must have bitched at Rogers for over a year before they finally added it.

just a thought, but if you all switched to rogers, wouldn't that solve your problems?

( no, I don't work for rogers).

I would
if I could
but I can't
so I won't

Cable companies are still into getting exclusive regions her on the rock. This basically eliminates myself from having a choice of which company to go with for Cable TV.
