He's going on the open market in the summer. If he gets an offer that's substantially higher than Murray's (like 500K+), I think we've seen the last of A-Train.

To be honest I cant see volchenkov moving for 500k. Reports say he wants a long term contract. So I only see him going if he is offered 750k to a mill more than murrary is willing or he gets offered a substancial long term contract. It wouldnt suprise me if he went for 4.5 on the open market. I think the contract problems with murrary are more likely down to term than money. Lets just hope something gets done before it comes to the open market.

Murray said himself that it's not a term issue, and that it's a money issue. He "has a number in his head" that he wants Volchenkov to come close to.

According to Grossman volchenkov is going to stay with the senators past the deadline. Have to admit im a little worried by this hopefully negotiations are going well.
