Sens Underground Forums > Future Considerations

What exactly does this mean in an NHL trade?

By literary definition I understand the concept.. but does this have any teeth or is it just a polite way of saying "we're giving him away" ?
Is "Future Considerations" simply hold as much weight as a gentleman's "word" or is there something more concrete to it?

Just curious :)

Oh.. and way to see the forums light back up!

I always thought it meant late round drafts picks... That or a bag of brand new pucks.

I think there's usually a condition on weather the player, a restricted agent, sign back with the team that acquired him or not.

Prediction for tomorrow: Chicago trades for a Goalie after both of theirs were lit up tonite by Isles

Prediction WRONG but I think they should have but who was available besides Toskala :D

After tonites Philly game they should have gotten a goalie too, giving up 6 to Florida

All of a sudden the Sens seem to be in a good position with guys like Brodeur and Lehner coming up the ranks. Elliot's been solid and Leclaire showed some brilliance early on before cooling off and getting the injury bug.

Sens are looking good in the East... all I'm saying :))
